Repeated resets and speculative part changes can hide an installation or utility problem. The safest and fastest route is to preserve the fault evidence, compare the installed conditions with the manufacturer’s requirements and let a competent engineer test the relevant system.

  1. Make the situation safe. Stop using equipment when there is a gas smell, burning, smoke, exposed live parts, flooding, persistent overheating or another immediate hazard. Follow the site emergency and isolation procedure; do not defeat a safety device to keep service running.
  2. Capture exact evidence. Record model, serial, displayed code, plain-language symptom, time, operating stage, load and recent work. Take photographs without opening guarded or live compartments. Preserve the sequence instead of repeatedly clearing the display.
  3. Check the installation baseline. Give the engineer the commissioning readings and service information for power, gas, water, drainage, ventilation, treatment and controls as applicable. A utility fault can appear as an appliance fault, and several units failing together is an important clue.
  4. Test, correct and prove. The competent person should diagnose using the manufacturer’s method, record measurements, correct the cause and run a representative cycle. Update the asset history so a recurrence can be compared with the same evidence.
